Payment methods

iDeal

iDEAL is the most widely used payment method in the Netherlands among online shoppers. At least 60% of the online transactions by Dutch consumers are carried out using this payment method. The payment method, which provides a direct payment (without a processing period), is fast, trusted and secure. With an iDEAL plugin the payment method is easy for webshops to connect to.

As a popular payment method, iDEAL is fully integrated with the online banking environments of the Dutch banks. Participating banks are: ABN AMRO, ASN Bank, bunq, ING, Knab, Rabobank, SNS Bank, Triodos Bank, RegioBank, Handelsbanken, Moneyou and Van Lanschot Bankiers. In addition to payments completed in webshops, we also see a trend outside of e-commerce applications. For example, charities use iDEAL to accept donations and online invoicing software to receive payments.
